John Racine, CFP^®

With a passion for empowering family businesses, John Racine brings over a decade of experience in financial planning and investment management to his clients. He holds a degree from the University of Trent (2007) and earned his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation in 2014.

John’s expertise was shaped by his early career in his family’s insurance agency, where he obtained his life insurance licenses and gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by family businesses. In 2014, he founded Racine Financial to provide personalized guidance to family businesses, helping them achieve their financial goals.

Jemma Racine, PhD

Jemma’s journey to Racine Financial took her from the labs of the University of Bristol, where she earned her PhD in Chemistry, to the dynamic world of finance. With a passion for empowering women and families to take control of their finances, Jemma brings a unique blend of analytical expertise and compassionate guidance to her clients. As an Investment Advisor and Associate Planner, she helps clients build confidence in their financial decisions and achieve their goals.

Outside of the office, Jemma is a devoted mother of three and an active member of the Port Hope community. She serves on the board of the Port Hope & District Healthcare Foundation, volunteers at her daughters’ school, and enjoys mentoring young girls in the Synchro Squirts synchronized swimming program. In her free time, Jemma loves playing piano, practicing yoga, and exploring the natural beauty of Northumberland County with her family.

Our Story

John Racine’s passion for community-focused financial services was shaped by his family’s legacy. Growing up, he watched his father build a successful life insurance agency in Northumberland County, becoming a respected pioneer in the local community. His mother joined the business, and together they instilled in John the importance of helping others and building strong community connections.

Inspired by his parents’ legacy, John joined the family agency in 2008, earning his life insurance licenses and later his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. As he gained experience, John recognized an opportunity in the community for a broader financial service business, one which offered comprehensive financial planning and unbiased investment management tailored to family businesses with their unique challenges.

With this vision, he founded Racine Financial in 2014. John focused on providing business owners with greater clarity on which path to take to retirement, how to meet financial goals, retirement and succession planning. As the business grew, John’s sister Jemma joined the team, bringing her passion for empowering clients and her expertise in helping people develop a healthier relationship with their finances.

Today, John and Jemma work together to provide personalized financial planning and investment guidance and support to family businesses across Ontario. They believe every small business deserves a tailored plan that addresses their unique needs and goals.

While their roots are in Northumberland County, they proudly serve family businesses across Durham Region, Peterborough County, Kawartha Lakes County, Hastings County, Prince Edward County and beyond.
